HOPE: Healthy Opportunities for Parenting Effectively

HOPE is a collaborative community program for parents who are no longer together but still experience a very high level of conflict that affects their parenting and their children. The program involves presentations by guest speakers such as judges, attorneys, probation officers and social workers, as well as videos, lectures, and group discussions.

The primary goal of the HOPE program is to reduce the negative impact of divorce and conflict on children by helping parents learn new, healthy skills and co-parenting relationships. It will help them:

  • understand their child's right/need to love both parents;
  • focus on their child's needs instead of their conflict;
  • develop effective communication skills;
  • minimize conflict;
  • manage emotions;
  • create healthy boundaries and
  • rebuild trust and respect.
